Polyglots and Frontliners (COMMENT 7)

 What is a polyglot? A polyglot is a person who can understand texts and talk fluently in four or more languages, including his mother language. They are usually smart people or people who love travelling and discovering other cultures.

On the one hand, it is incredible can talk with people from other countries in their mother language without any help. Talking different languages is more and more essential because we are living in a world that is always moving. We can't stop, for work or enjoyment, we are traveling and meeting new people.

On the other hand, it isn't easy.  You must be revising them every week because you tend to forget them if you don't use them. It is not like riding a bike or swimming. If you do not use them, they will leave you.  And keeping a good level in all of them must be harder and harder.

As I see it, learning new languages is very important, and for this, I am learning English and French. In the future, I want to learn another language like German.

Year of challenges (COMMENT 6)

Challenges are around us every time. Overcoming them makes us stronger and helps us with future similar situations. For some people, their challenges are to get money, to buy a new home or a car. However, for other people is to fight an illness.

   

Around all of Spain, people have had a big challenge due to the COVID-19. Nevertheless, currently, we have other problems. There were snowfalls in most of the cities. It has shattered some infrastructures. And, I must add, the last earthquakes in the province of Granada. They have destroyed houses and buildings, too. Yet, it has affected the mental health of the people, as well.

Nowadays, my challenges are to get my French and English B1 and to pass the first year of Bachillerato. And of course, I wish both my acquaintances and I would have health.

In conclusion, challenges are present, but it depends on us how we choose to face them. I guess good humour and joy will always be better than being sad or pessimistic.

For our own good (COMMENT 5)

The coronavirus has changed our lives since last year. Many people are infected. Now, we are at the third wave. The third and the second wave are overpassing the amount of people affected by the first wave. Today, in Andalusia, we have reached the highest number of people dead in all the pandemic.

I want to share my experience with you. My mother works as a home help assistant. The person she is assisting, who is around 90 years old, was infected, but fortunately, she didn’t get symptoms. Unlike my mother, she got infected. Last Friday, she was afraid, and she decided to go to had done a PCR. She was tested negative.

Yesterday, I was determined to go to high school. But first, my mother decided to have another PCR done. I was waiting in Salobreña inside my car when my father came, to tell me that my mother had tested positive. All my world got down because this afternoon I had my exams at the Official Language School. I could do them via the Internet. I must be at house for ten days.

In my opinion, there are people that for their job must be careful, but sometimes we can’t avoid them. On the other hand, some people prefer not to follow the precautions or the rules.

Post-Brexit life and Washington’s Capitol (COMMENT 4)

 2021 would be like a phoenix bird, but now it seems the opposite. We only have lived eight days, but we can say that they are crazy.

Firstly, let’s talk about the United Kingdom. They said goodbye to Europe in 2020. Some years ago, they had achieved the famous Brexit. Word made up of Britain and exit. But now, the UK and the European Union have signed an agreement about the free market.

Secondly, last Thursday, I woke up earlier because I had to go to the medical center at 8.30. When I returned home at 9.15, my sister, who had escorted me, and I put the news on TV. Washington’s Capitol was being stormed. Hundreds of people went there after some tweets from the future former president, Donald Trump. He was encouraging them that the elections for him had been a fraud. The people understood these tweets, and they took up the Capitol. Four people have died, and today, the media have confirmed another one, a Capitol police officer.

All the situation in the United States disappoints me. I hope that with the new president, violence problems would decrease. I think that it is an incredible country, due to this they are the first global power.

COVID-19 (COMMENT 3)

In November 2019, in the Chinese country a new strange illness was discovered, coronavirus was called due to its shape if we look through a microscope.

Starting in 2020, we didn’t expect what was going to happen. In March, the situation in Spain was uncontrollable. The Coronavirus was in all of Spain, we hadn’t the necessary resources to fight against it. The number of infected didn’t stop increasing as well as the number of deceased. Spanish government banned going out to the street, only to shop the necessary and the people who had to work. We were locked down, stay at home, they told us. Four months later we were allowed to go out, but now with new rules.

All the celebrations from this time have been very strange. Summer without festivities, Christmas without family, and January without parades. But it can change. Now, we have a vaccine or being a little more specific, vaccines. In Spain two different vaccines have been marketed by Pfizer and Moderna companies.

In my opinion, vaccination can be a good option, but always having in mind that it has dangers. 

Dreams (COMMENT 2 )

We don't need a dreamcatcher to make our dreams a reality. For me, it's obvious that some dreams, working hard can be a reality, but other dreams, are stupid, and trying to get them is a loss of time.

Living under the water would be amazing and spectacular. Every morning you would see the fishes and the oceans' elements. But this, for an ordinary person it is impossible. Why am I saying this? To start, homes under the water must be very expensive as all the things have to be prepared to cope with the pressure. We also add that you should have a submarine to be able to go to the land, and get the things for the day to day or to have a social life.

The last point to talk about is NASA and the women. NASA is preparing a plan, Artemis I, like the Greek goddess of the Moon and the twin sister of Apollo. Only 12 humans have been on the Moon, and all were male. A man last walked on the Moon in 1972 and with this new plan NASA is thinking about sending the first woman there by 2024. NASA calls for $28 billion in funding through 2025.

Everything can be a reality, from living under the water to going to the Moon. If you wish, you will get it, but you should always be cautious.

Bees and flowers (COMMENT 1)

When everyone sees a bee, he automatically thinks that the bee is going to sting. There I am the first that start to enter in panic. But do not worry anymore my friend, stinging people is not their task.

Bees have a principal role in pollination like the wind or more they help the pollen to arrive in the flowers. They are the main insects to commit the pollination. But also, bees make honey and wax, which we use for candles and other things.

Now, just before killing a bee or any other insect, think about how they help nature and, really for all of us. They make so much for the Earth, so thank you very much bees!
